Project Flamboyant!

Last Hurrah

Even in death, there is beauty.

Beauty & the beast

I chose beauty & the beast, because even though the broken down cars are sitting under the poinciana tree, beauty shines through it all.

A Poinciana Afternoon

Enjoying a quiet afternoon beneath the Poinciana tree, with a good book, some lemongrass tea and her vintage camera close by. Fallen petals cover the grass around her while the afternoon sun peeks through the branches, with one little piece of that Cayman summer tucked into her hair.

Radiance

The bright light of the sun captured the glowing beauty above - a moment that felt happy, peaceful, and blessed.

A Familiar Bloom

Reaching out to gently touch the vibrant blooms, the model takes in the beauty of the Royal Poinciana up close, savoring one of the fleeting colours of a Cayman summer.

The Crowned Poinciana

The palm crowning this poinciana and the layering foliage featuring multiple other local species is what creates the magic in this scene; a Caymanian cascade of colour.

The wings are spread…

Soft wings are spread wide awaiting a gentle breath of wind. One moment… and thousands of red, orange, and yellow butterflies will circle in the warm air. The photo was taken in the South Sound, Grand Cayman, August 16, 2026.

Blooms and Blooms To Be.

I loved the balance of perfect blooms and bursting buds that this picture captured, and the contrasting white detail on the petals is positively eye catching!

Tropical Fire

Poetic: “A burst of flame against the tropical sky, the poinciana stands in full bloom—nature’s own celebration of color, beauty, and summer.”

Crimson Canopy

“In full bloom, the poinciana transforms into a magnificent scarlet canopy—a fleeting moment of tropical beauty that commands attention.”

Ready to fly…

The Royal Poinciana tree blooms like a wild wildfire of scarlet and gold, orange and yellow colors. Each fragile petal dances in the wind like a butterfly ready for a flight. The flowers rest on branches before they start dancing with a slight breeze. The photo was taken in South Sound, Grand Cayman, August 16, 2026.

Crimson Majesty

The majesty of this tree is incredible. The red flowers with their touches of orange, and the way its trunk supports so much beauty while its branches spread out like wings, make it impossible not to admire. Whether you’re driving by or simply out for a walk, its vibrant color catches your eye and makes you stop for a moment to appreciate it. It’s one of those beautiful reminders of how nature can turn an ordinary moment into something special.

A Sacred Path

These crimson beauties adorn both sides of the pathway leading to the front of the church, a fitting reminder of the sacred sacrament of the blood of Christ
